Proportioning valve orientation

Is the proportioning valve mounted like a I or like a ----?

If that doesn't make any sense, does the rear brake line exit the valve straight back, or down and then make a 90* angle?

The rear brake line exits the valve straight back. I don't see any reason why it could be mounted any way as long as it's mounted lower than the master cylinder.

Yep, straight out the back of P valve for the rear brakes on my 78 F250, then slightly downward bend, then hugs the inside of frame back to the flex hose for the diff.

I'm sticking a '79 P-valve on a '68 that is getting front disc brakes....

I took the valve off over a year ago, and don't recall it's orientation...

Here's how it's mounted on a '73 F100. The line on the left goes to the rear.
