1992 Proportioning Valve

I recently replaced my rear brakelines and am now trying to connect them to the front proportioning valve. I could not remove the brakeline fitting from the valve so I removed the larger hex fitting that the brake fitting goes into, and it threads into the valve block. Now I cannot get the hex fitting that goes into the valve block back in. There is a rubber sleeve that is catching the shoulder of the hex fitting. Does anyone know how to get this back in or what I should do now?

Thanks

welcome to FTE. hang around and i'm sure someone will come up with an answer for you. in the meantime, might not hurt to give a few more specs about your truck (engine, tranny, etc). not sure it matter with brakes, but it might help someone that knows

I need to know what Proportioning Valve you are talking about.
Are you talking about the "Height Sensing Brake Proportioning Valve" or the "Master Cylinder mounted Integral Proportioning Valve"
