No. "Hard" codes are ones that not intermittent. It refers to a fault that is unambiguous. A completely and continuously faulty device or sensor would be considered to be a "hard" fault.
Of course, if you cannot pull any codes, you likely have some hard failure.
thank you for the help i will try some of these things and if you have any other ideas please share cuz my tranny guy and i are both scratching our heads. talked to him yesterday and he said he unpluged the tps and said it help some when going into drive but still its very hard going into reverse
got the problem fixed it was a broken wire between the computer and the tranny. once did the scanner right got a code and ran with it. was not doing the koeoff test the tranny guy though you would get same codes by skipping to the koeon test. oh well it happens
