So my CL is on in my 95 f250, 5.8, it started out needing a air temp sensor, changed it, cleared codes.
Now, I scan it and every time I get different codes each time.
Everything from codes 72, 712, 53, 66, 32,85, 36 and 6.
I am going to flip out here soon.
It sounds like the ecu is bad, but it runs great.
ANy help would be fantastic as I am broke and need to get it smogged and tagged ASAP.
A 1995 F250 will have 3 digit codes unless someone swapped in an older PCM. In either case you will never receive a mix of 2 and 3 digit codes, it's one type or the other.
an Actron scanner.
And its just the stock EEC-4.
I know it has 2 and 3 digit codes.
I just get different 2 and 3 digit codes each time. The only ones that remain constant is the 11 and 172.
So an o2 sensor for the 172, easy fix. But why do the other codes come and go?
Is a sign of the capacitor leaks in the ecu? Havent found an answer for that yet in my searching.
Thanks Again.
You will not get a mix of codes. The lone exception is some readers interpret the separator flash between KOEO and CM display as Code 10.
Actron reader...is that the one that flashes or beeps? If so throw it away. It's junk and you can do the same thing with a length of wire and watch the CEL flash.
If it is a digital display reader I suspect it is defective.
