So would a AirDog with a cross connect eliminate the dead heading?

People use the Fuel CrossOver for that purpose. I'm on the fence as to if the crossover does the job fully, but people do use it for that purpose.

So if you could only have one (airdog/fass or RR) what would it be?

I did both, some would argue that you really shouldn't have to do both.

If you aren't planning to do any moderate modding to the truck, I would vote to go with the RR Kit as I'm not a fan of dead-heading design. That just really lends itself to starving those last 2 injectors.

That's just me though.

When you start dealing with bigger injectors. I think Stage Is are borderline for what the stock pump can handle. Some would say that it can handle more then even those injectors, I tend to error on the side of caution. However, when you start talking Stage II and IIIs, then I would go for both mods (pump and RR kit).

IMHO a crossover is basically another form of deadhead (and a waste of money). If you put equal pressure on both ends of a pipe what happens to the material in the middle? It sits there and STILL has no where to go. If the fuel supply is adequate there's nothing to suggest that the back two injectors should or will starve even with a deadhead design.

That's the question right there.

Which is why you need to start with a fuel pressure gauge and go from there.

The only real benefit from my RR that I've seen is that it eliminates the crappy stock fuel pressure regulator.

LMAO--I could type an "Evan style" dissertation on fuel systems if I really wanted to get started but it's not worth all the speculation and over thinking it might start.
