use the tools as above. push tools in until you hear them or feel them click in then push the end towards the middle. Mine was stuck pretty good so i had my son hold the tool while i inserted my fingers into the tape deck and the pushed side to side and up and down. it took a couple of times rocking the radio but it did loosen up and was able to pull out using my fingers in the tape unit. Mine is in a 2000 Excursion AM/FM cassette and CD.
