[quote=7 I'm going to pull the pads, clean everything up real good and try applying some new anti-squeak compound to see if that helps. [/quote]
While you've got things apart you can also chamfer the leading edge of the pads.
Check for little rocks between pad and rotor and cyanides both leading edges. Do you drive on gravel roads much. I did have this problem on the 05 a few times, ravel on the roads for winter.....
For me, when they are hot from pulling the trailer they are worse. But the worst time was while on the Oregon coast with all the salt spray. So I think it has to do with good clean rotors and discs.
Mine does it as well. by the way you state the wear indicator you must also have a bmw. many newer bmw have a sensor in the pad that makes the same sound as my truck. all customers for bmw get new pads if they complain. I have not mentioned this yet but have been thinking about it
I had a squeak or actually a squeal when rolling along without brakeing below 40mph. When I turned the wheel or applied the brakes it went away. I found the front drivers side pads were shot. The 2 piston caliper was probably freezing.Being one or both pistons in the caliper were freezeing or froze.
I pressed the piston back into the caliper and replaced both dr and pass side pads hopeing this will un freeze it but it won't I know I tried this on my 08 F350 and it didn't work. But this will buy me time to get a caliper ordered.
Funny thing is on both my 08 and this the front froze at 24k and the rear froze at 35k on the 08. So I'm expecting a rear noise in 5 or 10k miles on this 11.
It must be the way I drive and or things I tow while driving? Not many have these problems.
