After reading all the post for over a year of the good and bad I traded my 04 duramax for a new 2012 6.7 lariat 350 cc. I picked it up on saturday and am pleased to say I am very impressed with it, I have only 200 miles on it but the transmission shifts perfect , there is no rear end hop, no door wind noise, the stereo sounds good, rides good , and very quiet inside the cab and I am averaging 21 mpg running around by the truck meter I know it is way to early for judgement, but so far so good.

Congrats on a great truck! I hate to rain on the parade, but shifting issues don't appear in the first few hundred miles, the ride diminishes greatly by about 5,000 miles when the "Rancho" shocks start to crap out, my driver door whistle didn't appear until after 10,000 miles and I haven't seen one yet that ever achieves the fuel economy that they did in the first few tanks of fuel. I'm not complaining and I still feel I have a fantastic truck, but at 200 miles that assessment is sort of like George W. Bush's declaration of "mission accomplished"!
Congratulations on your new truck. I have 9900 miles now. Truck shifts the same as when new. Rides the samme as when new. No whistle around the door. The mileage on the computer screen is the same as when new. I don't know, seems the same as when new, so far. My truck is a little different than most, it's a chassis cab. I don't know if that's good or bad. Love it so far.
Congrats on the new rig. Been loving mine in every aspect. Just returned from first tow with mine today after running around freeway 100 miles, 75 miles of mountain driving and 60 miles or so of around town driving that; included towing my boat for half of this drive I still managed to keep 16 mpg and I don't drive very slow on the highway 75 or so. You will continue to enjoy yours for years to come.
I am far from waving a flag and saying everthing will be great anything can happen my 04 lost a injector in the first 500 miles and my ave mpg was only 13, you read where people drive off yhe lot and things break, it will be a few years before we really know how they will hold up.
