i have a 92 f150 302 4x4 nite edition. the truck was taken care of really good before i got it. it only has 93000 miles on it and runs great. i have been thinking a lot about opening the exhaust up and i have some questions on products. i have shorty headers already from a mustang. then im thinking maybe 2-2.5 inch piping to high flow cats, and the to one muffler to side exit. any recommendations on cats and also mufflers? my brother said borlas are awesome so i was thinking about that. i just dont want it to sound like everybodys cheap loud and annoying exhaust.

Can't help you on the cats, but I'd run 2-1/2" duals back to a magnaflow 2-in, one out muffler and a 3" single tailpipe, very nice setup on these trucks, IMO.
Personally, I would run true duals on it with 2.5 inch pipe and use Borla, Magnaflow, or Dynomax mufflers and then exit out the rear or behind the rear tire like the stock 1st gen Lightning exhaust.
When I setup my new exhaust for the 351 swap, I'm going true dual with Dynomax Ultraflo most likely. I'll put the side by side turned on their sides if that makes sense.
I'm going to probably use JBA shorty headers and either Magnaflow or Bassani cats.
The mustang shorties flange kicks at a different angle...although you maybe could fab a y pipe to work. Gen 1 lightning shorties will work with aftermarket y. You will need 2.5 pipe if you fab your own y as the ball flange is much larger on both, the lightning and the mustang shorties.
