Driver Side Window

I have a 2006 Ford F-150 with about 43,000 miles .. love it. However, my driver side window stopped working today. For about the past month when you would power up, it would delay and then go up. This happened every so often. Going down was never a problem. Some times window would go up, then drop down an inch or so. Now this morning I went to the store and the window won't go up and it is down all the way. I do not hear grinding, only clicking. All other windows work fine. Any advise would be appreciated. I live in Portland, OR.

welcome to the site. I have never had this issue but know from reading on here that it is fairly common. Here is a thread from another forum that describes what you are saying. It is pretty detailed and has a lot of pics. Hope it helps.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I took the window switch off tonight, cleaned all connections and it WORKS.... I was concerned it was going to be my window regulator...

I went through the same issue.
I also took the switches apart and cleaned the contacts. Worked well for about two weeks, then began to act up again. At that point I just bit the bullet and bought a new 4 switch assembly from the dealer. Was able to talk them down to around $50 for the assembly and just plugged it in. Makes my life a little less worrysome now.

Welcome to FTE. Window switches seem to be common on these trucks. Most of the dealers in my area stock them. They won't stock parts unless it's a frequent problem. I had to replace driver side door and passenger side door window switches on my 06. I cleaned the old ones and threw them in the console for backup as well as some electrical contact cleaner. It's a shame that something like a $60 switch can make a $35K-$40K truck a little less pleasurable ownership experience than expected.
