Snook Thanks brother. It has been a busy past few months for me. I made a trip to CPP in Anaheim last month and bought most of the parts I was missing: Column mount, floor mount, steering column. universal joints, engine mounts, AOD mount, DD bar etc. I have the steering column all mocked up and in place. Now just need the time and friends to come on over and help me lay the combo in place so I can weld on the motor mount brackets to the x-member. BIGGEST Hurdle for me yet. Can't wait to get it done. OMW to your page after this post.
TN 53 Thank you for the props... I was debating going for the easiest install as I never worked on cars before. Only turned wrenches on planes in the USAF. I was initially going for the bolt on with Minimal welding but then I realized if I am going to do an IFS then the fat bar should be easy after the IFS install. And it was. Hardest part is doing everything solo and making little things to hold the rear end in place or a shock or something you know. In the end not too bad at all and I would do it again. No Limits' products are great.
SD 56 The technical reason I can't say really, but I can share how I came to this conclusion. It was by calling the No Limit tech line. The four link did not include boxing plates so when I asked them how far back I needed to go they said up to the shock mount bar is good. I ended up buying their boxing plates and they came in the perfect shape from the rear shock mount bar to where they stop in the front.
As far as saving the coin. I would continue to save and be patient. It took me about 9 months to get enough coin to buy the No Limit Suspension package as a whole. Came out cheaper and I got a military discount. Good Luck.
Your setup looks good. I have two questions. What is the flange to flange measurement on your rearend? And it appears that your frame is missing a lower brace between the most rearward brace and the one above the axle. Did you remove that or was it missing and are you going to replace it?
To your second question: the only brace or x-member that I can remember taking of in the rear and not replacing was a smaller L shaped one. It held on the spare tire. At this point I may or may not reuse it. I took it off with the other bigger x-member to clean up the frame and prep for a rear tank install but in the end I decided to keep the tank in the stock location. Thanks again

Reason: typos
Thanks, for the link. This helps if I am reading axle flange to flange vice housing flange to flange. I had figured a housing of 55" and by the time I got it loaded with axles and disc brakes, I would be at roughly 59"-60" for a rim mating surface. Along with the 4 link this should be a nice setup to tuck fairly large tires under the fenders using the proper backspacing.
svt, if no limit recommended boxing the rear then i guess it adds more strength and ridgity to the frame to allow the four link to do all the work rather than the frame flexing. Looks good buddy I will have to add those to the shopping list once I find some more loot. Keep up the good work!
SVT, I advertised for a 71-73 rearend assembly. I had a call on one, but they claim that it is 59 1/4 housing flange to housing flange. I think I am going to have to go and take a look. The gentlemen seemed to know what he was talking about, but at that rate, the axle to axle measurement would be way to big.

FWIW...when I ordered my FAT BAR...the boxing plates were included as
part of the "kit"...allthough it is an airbag setup...but still...I would think
the plates would be part of the kit anyway......I would raise some
!@#$%^&* about that....were there any boxing plates included with the
IFS?.........
SVT-F100...nice work....looks good....hopefully that panhard bar will not be an
issue...but everyone I spoke with did mention that it needs to be
parellel with the axle tubes & earth.......I have not got mine in yet
so I cant give any insider info there...but again...SWEET!!!
SVT...again..looks great!....I'm curious...what type of erquipment did you
use to weld the FAT BAR together with?....beads look great......
I finally JUST found out that MY SnapOn MIG was manufactured by
Century just AFTER they were purchased by Lincoln Electric!!!
Took me quite some time to track this info down..but it's NICE to know
my SnapOn welder is actually a LINCOLN!!!
So now I can order replacement parts directly from Lincoln without any worries!...
Not that I need any but it IS comforting to finnaly know the REAL story
behind this YA219B 120V supply MIG welder (with 75/25gas) that Lincoln
reassured me WILL handle 3/16" ALL day long...and 1/4" with multiple passes......
It seems this machine was originally designed for sheet metal work...but
with the infinitely adjustable settings...including "Stitch" welds...this
BadBoy will do anythig...
I was just wondering about your welding equipment...the welds look nice...GREAT work......
...i know this thread is a couple years old.
I stumbled over it when i searchd the net for 4 Link rear suspension for my ´56 Truck.
Is there a special reason / advantage you choose the "No Limit" 4 link which has the upper coilover mount bracket outside the frame?
Are u satisfied with the no limit 4 link?
Ingo.. I have had no complaints with the design. I am running Shock Waves if that matters at all. I purchased both the Front IFS and the rear 4-link as a package.

Kelly, thanks for your reply. I guess i will go with the No Limit also. I´m thinking about to mount the shocks in front of the axle (hidden) because there the frame is stronger than behind the axle, after i notched the frame an inch!?
Is there a build thread about your Suspension Kelly?
I dont see a response to Ingos question about a build thread. Im hoping someone will chime in who has added the NO Limit 4-Bar and share more information. I currently have one and am just starting on it. Its going in a short box 56 Ford F-100. One thing Im curious about is the 36" measurement. Does this mean fords and chevys are identical regarding where the rear axel mounts to the frame?
I can't answer your question regarding the Chevy dimensions but I can add that I have a 4-link setup from TCI that was designed for the F1 series. I have an F100 and I thought that I might be able to use this 4-link on it. So I called TCI and they advised me that the difference between the F1 and the F100 was in the length of the bars. I measured my 56 chassis and the bars were the correct length. Not sure who is correct but the tale of the tape says it all for me.
...in the meantime i ordered and received my No Limit 4 link.
I have some mock up pics. Maybe later i will post some more pics, perhaps i´ll start my own "build thread".
I also don´t know if the 36" inch is the same for chevy and FORD. But i know when you put it on 36", the front bracket is close (touches) to the original bed mount.
I´ll kep you guys posted.
