I'm in the process of purging the cylinders and the back passenger keeps shooting a fine mist out. Do I have to purge until there is no fine mist out of any of the glow plug holes? I sucked them out with a shop vac and now it seems to be just the one.
It almost looks like water and oil!? But I drained the radiator. How would it be getting in there? I did just replace the injector cups but that was the last one I did and I wAs careful to do them all exactly alike!
Oh and the glow plug from the cylinder next to it was tough to get out and it has hard black buildup on it. Sorry for the multiple posts just trying to figure this out.
What have you disabled to make sure the injectors are not firing? If you let it sit for 15 minutes, do you still get a fine mist, or is there more fluid in there?
If you've disabled the injectors and only have a fine mist then you should be fine to install the glow plugs and start it up. Fluid in the cylinders is what causes damage. A mist of fuel will ignite and burn off on compression, or if it's oil, will smoke out the tail pipe for a little bit.
The valve cover harnesses are still unhooked so i know the injectors are not firing. I'm just overly paranoid I guess. This is my mode of transportation and I dont have any other options. Just don't want to hydro lock it up. Ive cranked it over quit a bit in 20 second intravals, let it sit and do it again and still get the same amount of mist. (a little more than a "sneeze" each time.
When you pulled the injectors is that the first one you pulled. Which ever one you pulled first got the majority of the fuel and oil out of the rails. If your really worried leave it set overnight and alot of the oil and such will drain past the rings.
