Still Rough Idle After VC and Pigtail Repair
Hey guys, all was well then last week my truck had melted two of the valve cover gasket connectors as well as the pigtails on the passenger side and one UVCH connectors was burnt but the other looked ok. I obviously had a really rough idle then before I pulled it apart. I had washed the engine bay after fixing an oil rail plug leak but it ran fine for a week, still trying to figure out why all of a sudden they melted.
I ordered new OEM stuff from Riffraff and soldered them in but now I still have a miss at idle that you can feel in the wheel and shakes the hood. I didn't even bother for a test drive.
The first one I did, I cut off the pigtail before I realized there was two same color brown wires, on each outside of the connector. The new pig tails have a brown and a black instead, I assumed it didn't matter which one went where. Could that be my problem?
And what is that bare wire that doesn't go to anything wrapped in foil in the harness for?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

The 2 outer wires (1 & 5) on the plug are the glow plug wires, so swapping them around won't matter. The next 2 (2 & 4) are the injectors, so if these 2 wires were swapped you'd have a miss. That bare wire that is wrapped around all the other wires is a shield wire to keep other electrical impulses from cross feeding the injectors.

Thank you. The only info I can find was on another site and according to this I had one 5 & 7 crossed but I re did it and its worse as ever.... Does anyone know the actual colors??

Got it figured out, sure is some mis information on the internet. I just did the man way, by trial and error. Tan with red stripe goes to yellow oem pigtail and tan goes to tan.
For something so common you'd think there would be cut and dry info on this. I searched for hours trying to come up with something.
