Welcome to FTE Robert. This is a great site to share the love of our Old Iron! There are a bunch of good people here that really know their stuff and will be able to help you along the way. You've got a real solid truck to enjoy. I love the '55. It's my second most favorite year model. Had to say that...didn't want to make the Beaver mad at me Keep us posted on your progress.

Why not keep it stock and just rebuild everything? It's your truck and this is my personal opinion, but I've always beleived that stock and original trucks shold be kept as is and not modified/upgraded. There are plenty of modified trucks that can be purchased and re-modified to your liking.

What size are the wheels? There was a person on the east coast looking for some wheels with the nubs on the inside of the hub.

EDIT: Found the post for the wheels. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...most-done.html You'll need 25 posts to contact "dagwood387", so start posting.

Welcome! I love to see the stock ones stay stock too... just another opinion. Whatever you do looks like a cool project. Keep the details and pics coming on your teardown and build.

thanks guys!
@51PanelMan, I usually do agree about keeping them stock if they are as close as mine was to it, but in this case, besides the unseen damage and repairs needed, i just couldnt. This is the truck ive always wanted and have had the plans im doing to it for years!
@rzns60, as for suspension it is getting independent front and rear not sure which route im going on the front as of right this minute but as for the rear i am planning on useing the rear out of a cobra my buddy has a couple laying around so i think im going to snag one and fab it in the frame.
