Finally my '52 is almost done

Havent posted here in forever- Bought a '52 nearly 2 years ago- Previous owner re-built the engine etc and got it mechanically sound for the most part, but started on the body and never finished. It's sat in the driveway until this past summer- Found a guy locally who does restorations at a fraction of what a body shop would charge, and his work is top notch. He should be finishing up the rear fenders and tail gate as we speak-

Nice! Just an FYI, but your truck has the F2-F6 front fenders.

Yeah I knew a while back that the fenders weren't the correct ones- They were on it when the previous owner got it from the original owner, so I decided to leave them on-

I found a mechanic like that. $20/hr and most of the time he takes less. He's my age and has become a friend.

I bought a set of the old style hubcaps liek it's supposed to have- but they don't fit on the rims that are on it (So I need to find rims that will take the hubcaps) - Can anyone tell me where to start? do I need to measure anything etc- any good place where I can buy a set?

Thanks

I'm assuming that you have the "newer" style rims, which look the same as the older style, but have the hubcap nubs on the outside instead of the inside. You just need to find a set of rims that have the nubs on the inside where the lugnuts go. You can either go with 15" or 16". I believe that 16" were stock. Finding a good set of correct 16" wheels is getting hard. Correct 15" wheels are still plentiful.

I have a set of stock 15" wheels (five total with spare) that are painted black and have brand new thin whitewall Bridgestone radials that I took off of my 52. However, shipping from the west to the east would probably kill the deal.

Nice! Worked with a guy who built a '56 with big truck fenders and it still looked good as does yours.

You can try a local wrecking yard or swap meet for the wheels. The one in my home town had them randomly distributed about the place so it may require some foot work. I'd take the hub cap and a measuring tape to check the bolt holes, diameter, and width.

It is a shame. They're now being stored inside the 51 Panel. If I don't sell them, I may end up putting them on the 51.

This is what they look like.
