An Industrial battery shop recently told me that the batteries installed w/ a new vehicle are U.S. made. The OEM batteries that you later buy from Ford (thinking they are the same as OEM) are made in Mexico - and with inferior components.

Can't prove it one way or the other, but I have NEVER had replacement batteries last as long as the original equipment.

Well considering my track record with Fords in my family (owned each one for 10 years)...it may take me a couple of years, but we'll find out if the pair of Motorcrafts I had installed last fall last as long as the originals.

My originals made it just past the warranty.

Agree 100%

My wifes '11 Edge has a Motorcraft battery "Made in USA" and my trucks replacement Motorcraft batteries are "Made in Mexico". I'm on my third set of replacement batteries that have been replaced under the 36 month warrenty.

I have used Odyssey's in different vehicles, motorcycles, boats, and Seadoo's for years, with extremely good luck.

I was going to put them in my '03, but couldn't justify the cost, so I installed Interstates. I keep a Battery Tender plugged into it (have a harness hard wired to it) so they should live a long life.

When Sears began selling the Odyssey's under the Platinum moniker I put them in my '02 7.3 truck, since the cost was much lower than buying them from an Oddysey dealer. I don't think believe there is a better battery manufactured.

My E350 7.3 has Interstates, no issues, and my '02 Ranger 2.3 DOHC parts runner truck (180k on the clock) still has the original Motorcraft battery. It definitely doesn't light like it used to, but if it doesn't die by March or so (it will be 10 years old!) I will replace it.
