I took my 1966 F100 out in the rain for the first time and the wiper stopped about 3 miles into the drive. It kind of sputtered on/off and eventually just stayed off. I'm not sure if there is a simple fix I should look at first, but I have a feeling I'll need to replace it.
It is a single speed wiper, but I may take this opportunity to upgrade. What year model should consider swapping into the truck? I've never done this before so I'm looking an exact fit. Is it just a switch and motor, or is there some kind of relay/timer I'll need to grab as well?
I went the semi-mod method. I bought a switch out of a 79' with delay, with the module, and the motor. I paid about $80.00 for all of it. It wires right up and then you have delay wipers.
were you able to use the old switch ****, or did the 1979 **** match? I really am new at this stuff, but is there a module on the 1966 F100, or is that a device for newer models?

The 66 standard **** slips right on. The Nut and bezel fit too. The module is only for delay wipers. It is how Ford made the delay work. It is all easy bolt up stuff, no mods necessary.
I bought the switch, module and motor all out of the same truck. I did have to use the arm from my 66. It was slightly different than the 79 one. I should have mentioned that since it was not clear that needs to be taken off and replaced with the original part.
I installed the motor and switch from a 1979 Ford. I used all the 66 linkage and just mounted the motor to the bracket. I only use the hot wire, and the motor was grounded through the frame. However the switch had a grey and green wire remaining, any ideas what those wires were for? It works without them So I am not planning on doing anything.
