engine dies after egr/cooler dlete replace
Just finished an EGR delete oil cooler replacement.
Video of my problem
2004 6.OL diesel Excursion. No Mods
Car started after long cranking. More exhaust smoke than previously.
Seemed to run fine. Took it for a drive. When I really stepped on the gas the engine died and I pulled over. Started up again just fine.
I did notice this vaccum type device on the passenger side which now runs as soon as I turn on the key.
There was a vaccum line that went into the top of the intake manifold passenger side. The end of it was slightly cracked when I reinstalled it.
Could the two be related?

The thing running is the electric vacuum pump. It is trying to build vacuum but evidently has a leak. Is that line the one that goes to the water cutoff valve in the heater hose?
Did u install a program for the egr delete or did u have to leave the egr valve plugged up?

Thanks for the reply. The line goes from the mid of the passenger side air intake manifold to some sort of weird electronic device by the passenger side firewall.
I removed the egr valve and plugged it. It is not throwing a check engine light.

Move down to the 6.0 forum and re-post this. I am not 100% sure but I think that if u do not leave the valve plugged in, it will not run the fan and some other things. Post in there how u did the egr delete as well
