Hi just joined up because I have been helping a friend with his 1976 f250 while im in school to be an suto tech.
Well I have a lot to learn and this is the first Ford I have ever touched lol so some help would be awesome!
His starter is bad and the one that the parts store says is right mounts up but is very diffrent from the one we pulled off... it has 3 connections and the truck only has 1 so is this the wrong one? or is there rewireing that needs to be done?
I allways take the old one in with me and tell them i want one just like it ,only clean, shiny and works. Then they can check any numbers that may be on it,no excuses then. If they still bring out one that's different after seeing the old one, then i just pick my old one up and leave the store.
Took the old one in and we found the right one! So now lol she starts but I think there may be some bad wiring causeing her to die randomly... first no spark then the starter now this lol does it ever end?
