Ranger INjector replacement
Ok Guys, this is what I have for my ranger that I have purchased so far:
List for truck:
Transmission Filter - 13.99 purchased
Oil - 29.99 (need)
Oil Filter - 3.99 - purchased
Spark Plugs - 6 @ 4.99/ea Purchased
Spark Plug Wires - 65.99 Purchased
Injectors - (Need)
Manifold Gasket - (need)
Coolant Flush Chemical - 5.99 - purchased
Coolant - 21.98 (need)
Thermostat - 25.99 purchased
Serpentine Belt - 17.99 - purchased
Injector Cleaner - 7.99 - purchased
Fuel Filter - 12.99 - purchased
Air Filter - 14.99 Purchased
88.43 - what I have spent so far <-----
Paint Doors & Fender: 500.00
so I am wondering this, if I buy injectors for the 4.0l OHV engine in general, no matter the year (ex.1994). Will it fit on my 1999? Next question: If I go to replace the injectors, can i get away with reusing the intake manifold gasket? What is the average life of these injectors, that would be good to know too.

I see you don't have any answers, so I'll see if I can get things started.
If the 4.0L injectors from different years have the same part number they're the same. Why do you think the fuel injectors need to be replaced???? Unless they're physically or electrically unuseable, they can be cleaned & reused. Just make sure their electrical impeadence is closely matched, so that they squirt the same volume of fuel, such that one cylinder isn't running too rich, or lean.
It's your truck, so you can try reusing the intake manafold gasket if you want too, but why cheap out on an inexpensive gasket, while spending loads of money & time replacing the fuel injectors????

Well the gasket i am being told is 88 dollars. Thanks for the reply, I was beginning to think nobody either knew or something. I asked the guy selling them on ebay and he said that the only difference is that in 1999 they switched to a plastic shell while earlier had metal case. Everything else is the same.
