C4 problem
I have a mid 70's C4 trans in my 72 F100. When the trans is cold (first start of the day) I'll put it in gear and start to pull out of my driveway. The trans will slip and it won't go until I rev it two or three times. It will do this for approximately 2-5 mins after the first start of the day or if it has been sitting all day. It's not slipping out of gear. It almost feels like when your clutch is going out on a straight drive trans. After 2-5 minutes it will run good all day as long as it doesn't sit a long time to let the trans cool down all the way.
I've adjusted the linkage both ways. The fluid is clean and at a good level. I haven't checked the vacuum modulator. Could that be going bad? Maybe the filter screen is dirty? Maybe I'm not adjusting the linkage enough?
Any ideas?

I'm not seeing any leaks from the transmission. If the seals were hardened wouldn't I see leaks?
