I'm not 100% on whats going on here, but I'll say what was told to me.
its an auto.
Don't know what year.
Drives fine shifts fine till you stop, then wont re-engage into gear.
Says he has to shut it off and put it in park, start it back up, and when he puts it in drive, it goes again.
Sounds like a weird electrical issue.
I dont know anything about 4r100.
I don't see how it could possibly be an electrical issue. When you put the shifter in D, the trans will engage without any electrical input. If it won't go with the shifter in D there is something mechanical wrong in the trans. I suspect a failing seal in the forward clutch.
Sorry bout the thread guys. I called him after I posted this and he had taken it to a trans shop.
Apparently he burned out a set of clutches.
now the Trans mechanic is saying something about stuffing 9 clutches in there or something so he was asking me about that.
I'm sure you could stuff an extra 1 or 2 in there.
I told him he needs to get some valve bodies and stuff like that to make them shifts snappier for hauling his huge *** trailer.
290k on trans though, not bad I guess.
