My 99 P.S. wont start intermittently. I've tried changing the CMP sensor-no luck. Today is typical: I went out to start the truck, everything normal, truck started. About a min later truck dies. Turn key off, then on, "wait to start" light stays on for about 1 sec, truck turns over & wont start. If I toggle the ingnition switch on&off, until the w.t.s. light stays on for normal 10 sec, the truck will start, and stays running. Sometimes while running truck will hickup, and O/D light starts flashing. I was able to pull these codes from the OBDII: P0713,P0563,P1281,P119,&P0603. Do I have a screwy PCM? Any info, greatly appreciated.
The O/D light flashing is usually indicative of a stored transmission code, The one code that stands out and points towards your symptoms is the P1281 ICP out of range, this could have been due to extended cranking , have you tried to start it with the ICP sensor unplugged? Are the batteries fully charged? Tin nut on the back of the IPR? Lot's of possibilities...
If u have not already, unplug the fuel heater and see if stops. u may check fuse for that as well. It could have an intermittent short in the heater or a bad fuse/ connection causing that issue.
