I have a Motorcraft 2150 (1.21) carb on my 360 and was wondering what size jets anyone would recommend? Currently I have a set of 56 F in the carb right now but also have a set of 48 Fs and 58 Fs and just want to hear what size everyone runs and recommends thanks. Also if it makes a difference in elevation im at around 7200 ft above sea level.
Altitude makes a big difference in which carburetor jets you use.
The higher the altitude, the LEANER the mixture needs to be.
First, is there anything wrong with the way your truck is running?
If it's running okay, I wouldn't change anything. If it's running rough or shows signs of running rich, poor mileage (I know, it's a dent with a 360), black smoke out the tail pipe, running rough, etc. I would try the 48's.
No there isnt anything wrong with the way its running I was just curious with the jet sizes since I came across those other sets in the salvage yard. Before hand I was using the 48 Fs and thought since the 56 Fs were bigger I would try them but after what you said I think i'll just put the 48 Fs back in. I did have a little black smoke before hand but it went away after I got my timing tuned in correctly. Thanks for your help.
