New windshield molding?

New windshield molding?
I had a leak in my windshield, so I took off my molding. In the process of doing that, I bent it a little (nothing I can't fix).
So I thought maybe I'd find out how much it would cost to replace the windshield on an 83 F250.
I had a heck of a time trying to even find it online. I found it in a catalog I had got a while ago, but for 440 bucks!
So I thought maybe I could get a new windshield instead (although I don't have my insurance set up where it's cost effective right now). Do new windshields replace the old original molding, or do I have to try and put back the old molding in place?
