The problem is with my 1987 Bronco, which was working fine before, the engine is a 300, everything is stock, the problem is that its forcing oil into the air filter, especially durring cold weather, also, it isn't burning oil out of the exhaust. Everyone I have talked to can't figure it out and I was hoping that someone on here could figure it out.
I would imagine that your PCV valve is bad. Your engine is set up so that the crancase breathes through a PCV valve and a breather, both of which should be on the valve cover. The PCV valve is connected to the intake manifold or throttle body, and when it is under vacuum, it sucks air out of the crankcase and into the engine..... of course, there has to be a way for air to get in, and that's the significance of your breather. The breather is connected to the air cleaner or tubing somewhere to let filtered air into the crankcase as the PCV system sucks it out. Now if your PCV valve is bad, all of the pressure created in the crankcase has to get out, and in this case, I think it's escaping through the breather, and since air is moving from the valve cover to the air inlet system, oil is going with it........ so spend $3 and replace your PCV valve, and see if that helps.
