Water in Oil !!!

I changed the head gaskets on my 352 and after I got it all put back together I was getting antifreeze in my oil. I located the problem to the intake and figured that it was the front and rear gaskets causing the problem, because they didn't allow the intake to sit down all the way. I removed the gaskets and just used silicon and it stopped the problem. But now, the silicon keeps blowing out the back, and the rear of my motor is covered in oil . I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem.

There are two possibilities that I can think of:

1. The surface was not clean enough before the silicone was put on. Use carb cleaner to remove all the oil residue so the silicone has a clean surface to bond to. Silicone is very picky that way.

2. There is too much crank case pressure. Is your pcv valve in place and operating correctly? Without it your motor will have excessive pressure and will blow out gasket, after gasket, after gasket - I found out the hard way...

I thought that it was building up pressure too but that doesn't make sense. My truck doesn't have a pcv valve. It just has the dump tube coming out of the valve cover.

You have the draft tube correct? Is it free flowing or is it plugged solid? One of the slick 60's members said something the other day about one of his trucks had the road draft tube was plugged solid with nasties....

A lot of others on here like use silicon as an end gasket and swear by it but I have never been able to make it work. Have your heads been milled? If they were it can cause the exact same problem you are having. If your heads were milled .020 or more and the intake or intake side of the head weren't shaved as well that will cause the side gaskets to leak. Any milling at all can cause the front and rear gaskets to be too tall. Just some ideas but definitely try what everyone else is saying first because its much more likely and much simpler.
