Anyone have a link to instructions on how to perform this operation? I'm going to attempt to upgrade my gearset to a 4.10, but have not instructions for disassembling the TTB.
You have to take the axle out of the truck, and disassemble that way. Remove the driveshaft, tires, and unbolt the radius arms from the bracket off the frame. Unbolt the springs, steering...etc.
Why would you want to take the entire thing out???? If all you want to do is change the gears than you have to drop the center section out the back. Remove the wheels brakes and spindle hub on both sides till you can get to the axle assembies. On the driverside it just pulls out. But the pass has to be removed with the centersection. once you unbolt the centersection and driveshaft, you should be able to drag the 2 part shaft out with the diff or maybe rotate the housing to the point you can get the c clip. i see no reason to unbolt the springs and remove axle beams themselves. One thing check you may have the external retainer on the pass side shaft. i think its just a pin that goes through the yoke.
