Another TTB Question. What years?

Could anyone tell me what years the TTB front was offered in the F250's? Could you opt for a straight axle in those years or was it only the TTB? In the F250 did the TTB's have coil springs or only leaf springs? Thanks

The TTB was used under the lower GVW F250's from 80-96, as far as I know. Higher GVW F250's and F350's could get the straight axle.
As for coil vs leaf, I'm not sure. The F150 had coil. I would guess that if coils were used under an F250 4x4, it would have been only under the lower GVW trucks. I don't recall ever seeing an F250 4x4 with coils, but it's possible.

TTB is used under ALL 80-97 F250's. D44 on the 91 and older reg cabs unless options requiring higher rated front GAWR were selected, then it got the D50. Ex cabs after 84 got the 50 by default, earlier is hit and miss.
All 80-85 F350's also have the D50 TTB, only the 85.5+ trucks got the D60 solid axle.
All of them are leaf sprung.

I am going to differ/ask a question at the same time here. I had a 97 F-150 (dunno if it makes a difference from the 250) with ttb front. It didn't have leaf or coil springs it had a Torsion bar suspension in the front. To me personally i like the torsion bar better than either leaf or coil. But that's preference. So the question i suppose is wouldn't that same torsion bar setup carryover to the 250 Lightweights?

97 f150 is a totally different design, it was not a ttb front. TTB is "Twin Traction Beam" and is two long arms very related to the old twin I beam setup since the 60's, only it is 4wd. Your 97 had a a-arm suspension, more related to a front wheel drive modern car suspension. Here's a picture of the 97 frontend.
