cam position sensor ??

cam position sensor ??
well on the way home today my truck decided to die again what gives 
. i put the gray one in that the dealer me with the recal last night, and that did not work. well might be somthing else. ran ok to work but when i was on the way home came to slow down tach droped and died !! so what else could it be ??? could it be a heat issue temp out side was 114* not as hot as it has been HELP WHAT NEXT
