Well my truck is sitting at the mechanic and I am waiting to see the damage to my bank account. I have the dreaded no start when warm issue and mechanic says he is certain it is something to do with the HPO system if not the HPOP itself. Just wondering how many of my fellow 6.0 owners have had this problem and why Ford doesn't have a recall. If we pay $40k for a truck I don't think it's too much to ask for it to go more than 93k miles without issues. So far I have had the FICM go and take 2 injectors with it and now this.
So how many of you have had HPOP problems???

I agree with BLADE35. Replace the STC fitting with the one piece branch tube connector (Ford part number 4C3Z-9B246-F) and the dummy rails and standpipes (Ford part number 6E7Z-9A332-B) and be done with your no-start when hot symptoms. I have only ever replaced TWO high pressure oil pumps on 2005 and up style. One was an E-Series with about 500,000 kms. on the ticker (the gear snapped off the shaft), and the other for a massive oil leak externally (forgot the mileage). Unless you have a cracked branch tube or injector(s) that blew its top, chances are the above two items will repair this issue PERMANENTLY.
Just an update to my issue. Turns out that the issue was indeed the fitting on the HPOP. According to my mechanic it was leaking severely. Going to have him replace the fitting with the updated parts kit, replace the IPR, EGR cooler, stand pipes and dummy plugs, seals and orings. Just wondering since these issues are so common and so many people have had the issue why Ford doesn't have a recall. Seems to me that the fitting issue is a defect. It just burns my butt having these issues on parts that are not serviceable parts and should NOT have had issues to begin with. Would be different if I didn't take care of my truck and if I had lots of miles on it, but at just over a 100k get real. Anyone know of an ongoing class action lawsuit against Ford/Navistar for these issues???? Ford should be made to pay for these repairs.
Anyone know the phone number or contact info for the Ford regional rep for Texas??? Can't get any of the damned dealers to give me the info and sending an e-mail or calling Ford does no good.

What about the 03-04? I have a buddy who's truck is back in the shop (03, no start hot) and they called today and said HPOP's shot. 4th one in 3 years. He's ready to sell. Any way to improve his odds of a permanent fix? ( besides new mech )

I bet he is ready to sell
weird its just a no start hot
I thought that the BB on those pumps was the culprit and when it falls out its just a no start period
does he change his oil regular and motocraft filters
I have heard about just putting a plug in where the BB sits but doesnt sound like thats it cuz its a no start period not just hot

He's good about maintenance and knows about oil/filter issues but truck does sit a lot. The HPOP that is bad now has only been in the truck for a couple of months. Changed at the same shop.
