problem is... truck starts good when cold, no hard start,no rough idle.
after i travel about 20 miles and motor warms up real good (not over heating) i can shut engine down and it is hard to start, have to wait nearly 2-4 hours to cool and it will start right up and do the same thing all over again. no smoking, and no check light.
took to dealer they pulled codes and all 8 injectors showed "low circuit"
You likely have a high pressure oil leak, being an 05 the STC fitting on the high pressure oil pump is about to come apart it is a known common problem with that model year. There is a updated fitting kit.Welcome to the FTE
All 8 injector circuit low codes indicate either that the FICM lost power or ground while operating (most likely cause), all 8 injectors are bad (extremely unlikely and improbable), or the FICM is going bad (more likely cause). It could be the cause of the no start due to the FICM getting hot while under operation and internal voltages dropping.
Your no start hot problem sounds more like a high pressure oil system leaking internally. What needs to happen is to see what the injection control pressure is doing during the hot no start condition. If it is good, then I would suspect a bad FICM. If the injection pressure is not good during a no start hot condition, then that is your problem and the leak just needs to be tracked down in the engine.
Are your batteries healthy? Healthy voltage is CRITICAL to your trucks fuel injection system.
The issue sounds like your Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) and not injectors. You can buy a reconditioned FICM from SWAMPS DIESEL fairly cheaply. They can (more than likely) fix the old one also.
If you are a capable electronics "solderer", there is a post in the Tech Folder on repairing the FICM yourself.
It is also possible you have a high pressure oil leak.
Dang, I am a slow typer today (good posts Tony and Adam)
