Trailer brake controller?

I just bought a 24 foot car hauler and have to install an electric brake system in my Navigator. My truck has the optional H.D. Towing package and I would like to know which systems work best and how difficult it was to install. I understand that the truck already has the wiring in place and that it should be a fairly easy install. Are there any pointers that you guys might want to share?

If it is like the Expedition, my 2001 came with a package that contained two relays, I believe for the brakes and 12VDC for the trailer. A pig tail that plugs into the connector under the dash for the brake controler if it doesn't come with the Ford connector.

I would by the Prodigy P3 controller and buy the pigtail that connects directly from their unit into the stock plug. That way there aren't any splices and it is about a 10 min. install.

+2 on the Prodigy. Although, the cool wireless system is very intriging to me. I may try that if there is a next time.......mucho $$.

Thanks for the information guys. I'll probably go with the P3 mentioned as that sounds to be the easiest and simplest to install.
The simplest is always best for me as that keeps me out of trouble.
