Under the hood

Its been a few months since i replaced the turbo, and checked things out. Removed the intake hose and no dustong going on. I want to remove the valve covers and fire truck up. What am i looking for, oil discharge is good, too much is bad or nothing is bad/good. Also, is it possible to disconnect the #8 cylinder injector to find source of ticking/bad injector, will it cause a problem doing that...thanks again

You can unplug an injector and let the motor run. It will have a miss and throw a CEL, but it will run fine, so yes you can disable #8. Keep in mind that the injector wiring carries a lot of voltage in it. Many people have unplugged the injectors one at a time with the engine running, but doing so carries a risk.

120 volts DC isn't fun. You should be able to unplug it while the engine is off and then restart it.

Do the 50 cent fix while you have the covers off..and re-torque everything..
