been having cold start issues so I checked my ficm it checked out fine. been noticing the smell of diesel under the hood so no biggy I got under the hood to see if I could find a leak but there is nothing it is as clean as could be. so any way while I was under there decided to check the fluides and when I pulled the dip stick it was over full and smelled like diesel fuel any ideas could a bad injector cause this are what?
Sounds like it could be an injector sticking open. If so I wouldnt even start it let alone drive it anywhere. You run the risk of burning a hole in the piston.
the 6.0L have problems with the injector o-rings and causing the oil to be diluted with diesel fuel, overfilling the crankcase. If im not mistaken, there is a recall on some models. Not sure if its on yours or not, but its worth checking into. Odds are either the o-rings are bad or the injector body is cracked. If I were you, I'd go ahead and pull the valve covers off and check all the injectors. They arent too hard to change out. I'd pull them out and check all the o-rings. If the o-rings are torn, I'd replace all o-rings and the copper washer. Be sure and use only hand tools to reinstall the injectors. Using air tools will damage the injectors/injector o-rings. As mentioned above, dont drive it. Its overfilling the crankcase and will cause premature seal failure due to excess oil pressure.
there is a recall. i was mistaken on the engine. Its on the 6.4L. Recall# 09B08S1. States they have premature injector o-ring wear and requires replacement of updated injectors. But yes you have an injector problem as mentioned above.
