302 build

hi i am new to this site and i am looking into building a 302 out of my 73 f100 and wondering what i could do to get power out of it, i was thinking of stroking it to a 347, and if i do that who makes a good kit at a resanable price and what else would you recomend to do to the motor

If you're seriously thinking about a 347 then you should give some thought to using a 351 instead, you already get the displacement you want and the block is far stronger with capacity to go to 400 cubic inches and/or take forced induction down the road.

Regardless what shorblock you use you will need an aftermarket HCI combo to get any real power out of it, none of the stock heads are good for much beyond 300hp without a ton of porting. Take some time and surf around this page and the others on this forum and you'll see lots of threads on motor builds, should give you some ideas and show you what is possible.
