Tony you're welcome. I've been more than pleased with my LTX M/S2. If you don't need an aggressive all terrain then these are hard to beat. Here's two pics from the week I had them installed last year.

Larger tire for stock wheels '05 F350

I was wondering what larger size AT tire (width and or height) I could step up to for my 05 F350. I don't have a lift kit and have the stock continentals (18", the worst I ever experienced) and mainly use the truck for plowing the winter months. I always used BF goodrich AT's on my old 86 F350. They did the job and seemed to last. Should I stay with stock size for any special reason? I'm thinking wider would be better but don't want them sticking out of the fenders. Just looking for some professional advice and some personal tire preferences. Thanks, Mike M

more aggressive will be better, but NOT wider. you want tall and skinny for plowing. that way it increases the psi put down to the ground and you wont float on top of the snow, you will cut through it to the pavement.

Thanks Dano, sounds like you know through experience. I guess I stay with the stock size and get a more aggressive tire like the GY or BFG AT. Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.

I agree, the Nitto Terra Grapplers are a really nice tire. BFG's are really nice but they are pricey same as the Michelin's. Cooper has a new a/t tire that they call the Discoverer A/T3, and they have a $75 mail in rebate right now also. I am going with Terra Grapplers when my Uniroyals are shot, or maybe sooner!

Mine has the Nitto Terra Grapplers. They were already on the truck when I bought it a few months ago (still had the nubs on them). It sees mostly highway use but doesn't roar like a lot of AT's do.

A friend of mine has the new Coopers and swears by them.

I'm wondering how the Nitto Terras and the Coopers handle in the snow. I also read the Nittos have no tread wear warranty but there is always a catch, even with prorating. Nittos price is right and people love them. Any reviews I looked up so far for both Nitto and Cooper didn't have anything to say about the snow.

I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers on my '06 FX4 SCREW. 42,000 miles, still look new and ride like a dream on the road. No noise, smooth and maintain balance well. They work pretty good in the mud until it gets real sloppy.

Snow is no problem and we had several good storms in the last two years and I hardly ever used 4WD with the Nitto's.

I would highly recommend them and will stick with Nitto when these wear out but I too am going to switch to the Trail Grapplers for a little more traction in the muck and mud to get to my favorite duck holes....Terra's struggle a little in this.
