My 63 motor (6 straight 233) was painted orange when it was rebuilt ( maybe). I want to paint it per factory colors. Blue keeps peeking through the orange on the block and oil pan. Red is the color of the valve color from pictures I have seen. Any suggestions?

Welcome!
I assume you mean 223 and not 233.
I asked the same question in reference to my 1962 223 and was told by a couple of people that everything is to be black under the hood except for the valve cover which is to be Ford Red per original. You might double check to make sure it was the same through 63 but my guess is that it's the same.

Thanks, I came to the same conclusion but was confused by the blue. It may not be the original engine.
