engine paint color

Hello, I am currently having my 1961 Ford Unibody P/U engine 223 rebuilt. I am considering having the engine painted, it is normally done, if so light blue or dark blue? It is a cherry truck and I want to do all of this right, please advise with what is correct.

I think the 6 bangers were red up to a point. I know that 65 was black block and gold valve covers.

My sisters 64f100 6 cyl was red but it was out of a 6o ford dump truck so Iam not sure if there is a diff

If your choice is between the dark or the medium Ford Corporate blue, go with the dark one. The medium blue is for 67 & up.

I am new to this site! Having a good time browsing! I have a 66 F100 240 Inline. I would think you want to use "OLD FORD BLUE" for that year.

Bone factory stock for a 61 223 in a ford truck.
Semi gloss black block, head, oil pan and intake

Red Orange valve cover...

The red orange can be obtained from the T-Bird restorers. as the 312s were that coulor also.
