Just went on a 200 mile drive to campgrounds and back home, transmission stayed around 180 all the way there, about 78 degrees outside, mostly flat roads with a few big hills. On the way home, 63 degrees outside, transmission ran around 150 degrees. Same speed both ways 60 mph, cruise control.

There's still something wrong though, a restriction of some sort. Today on the way home from work, about 82 degrees out. Again, 60 miles an hour, cruise control, flat open road temps were around 200 to 205. Doing the pressure test Sunday. Fluid still looks good, smells good, no metal chips. Something must be constricted.

Could your trans temp guage be bad or inaccurate? Each time when you do your testdrive are you starting with a "cold" trans?
