That's a reason I thought the radiator helped cool the trans, don't the lines run right into the radiator? The problem, I believe is linked to crud in the lines/coolers. Or a weak pump in the tranny. I'll do the test for fluid output this weekend and just take it easy on it till then. If there isn't much coming out, what should I rinse the coolers and lines out with? About a month ago, two or three times in one week I had the trans pull me slightly out of overdrive. Going right along down the highway at 60, 1800 rpms, in lock up, and then all of a sudden it slightly came out of lock up. Shot up 150 rpms, and definitly wasn't locked anymore. Hit the over drive button, and then hit it again and it went into lockup just fine. It shifts flawlessly. Great power, no slipping, no hard shifts. Trans temp running about 180. This just makes me suspect the pump in the tranny even more.

To help my knowledge out how can I tell if I have a OTW or a OTA cooler?
Crawl under your truck and look at the back side of your radiator.
If you have the OTW cooler, you will have a trans cooling line running into and out of the bottom tank.
If all you see is the lower rad hose, than you do not have the OTW cooler.
ALL the trucks came with the OTA cooler regardless if you have the OTW or not.
Here are the fittings the cooling lines go into.

Thanks I will have to take a look at mine but I believe I just have OTA.
