i have a 99 f150 with the 5.4. it turns over but wont start. it has 36# of fuel preasure. its got spark and air. there are no codes. it acts like it starts at times but wont actual start. it has backfired through the intake a few times. im at my wits end as to why it wont start. any more info needed just ask. could there be something with the timing? it has all new plugs and COPs. fuel filter changed and its got a k&n cold air intake on it... all the COPs are plugged correctly. any help would be def appreciated.

try taking the inlet air tubing off near the throttle body...with the help of a buddy, as it is turning over give it a brief whiff of starting fluid,(not too much)...see if it tries to start or runs briefly.
If it does, your not getting fuel to the injectors. If not, it maybe that the injectors are stuck open and flooding the engine.
It maybe the MAF sensor needs cleaning...had you recently cleaned the K&N air filter and reoiled it??....too much of the oil on the MAF sensor can really mess with them.
you may need to do a compression check.
Have you checked for codes?
i did check for codes and there are not any. ill do a compression check next. the plugs are dry and do not smell like gas. there is def fuel in the rail... thanks for the input i def apreciate it
