At work i have a 1999 E-450 cube truck with a V10 coil on plug ignition system. Recently the truck broke down with a no start situation..
Diagnosed a bad fuel pump.. replaced it with a new one.. still no start. no codes in memory no Koeo codes..
Checked spark.. Checked pressure of fuel 36psi.. went threw the no start pinpoint test came up with clogged exhaust.. i removed the cat and left it open headers.. no start..
i replaced teh crank sensor.. still no start..
decided i will force it to start using stater fluid and TB cleaner.. got it running.. no codes came up.. when you would hit the gas it would first stumble like it would choke out.. but the computer wont let it.. then it begins to accellerate very slowly... no audible misfire or anything. i let the truck run for a few hours. shut it off and it wouldnt start again.
I did observe while it was running then when it stuttered while on the gas the spark advance pid displayed 16300 which is way off the chart
i am completly lost and have no idea what else to check..
Three things are critical for ignition
1) fire
2) fuel
3) air
Sounds like you gave it fuel and you say you have spark, Than we need to look at air. I am not a mechanic and Im shure some one will speek up soon but If it were me I would look at the mass air flow sensor or something along those lines. These trucks are so complex it can get over my head real fast!

i did swap a mass air sensor with one of our other e450 trucks.. that was also a v10 the only differerence the one with the no start problem is a 99 and the truck i used the mass air sensor was from a 2003...
anyone have a no start issue with a v10...? i was driving the truck all day..decided to take the plow off.. did then tried to restart the truck and it turns over strong, but no fire...tried starting fluid in the throttle boddy....nothing at all...sounds like no spark right...well all the fuses are good too...... help!!

When replacing the fuel pump you should always replace the fuel filter too. It sounds like it is plugged up. The motor will run as prescribed with a partially blocked filter. I know, it happened to me.
thanks fredvon4.... i had the truck towed and they found a fuse blown under the dash that is for the pcm...somehow the plow shorted this fuse... thanks for your response
