While im at it taking tire off is not hard at all i can change all for tires on any five lug vehicle in like 20 minutes and im not full of ****... this guy must not have ever work a day in his life if that is hard to him!
No need to insult me. So you are a big strong guy, good for you. I've worked probably decades longer than you. I did not insult you or called you a liar, never heard of you. I just shared my experience. Congratulations on your superman status

Sorry i guess it was a little rude i was just trying to tell him that ur making it sound harder than it is... i didnt want him thinking that everything was hard like u where making it sound..
Thanks for the help everybody, especially Bankrupter.
I really don't understand why it would be so difficult to do this with hand tools. Yeah there's rust, but like I said I'm going to soak it all with PB Blaster a few days in advance and if that fails then heat up the rusted bolts with MAPP gas then soak with water to loosen up the rusty bolts, like Bankrupter said.
I want to do this myself because I only make minimum wage here, I mean come on I'm just a teenager LOL. I spent quite a bit on getting some new additions to my truck and would rather try to save a little bit of money now.
I'm sure a set of Rancho shocks would be nice.. as they aren't TOO expensive, at least for the 9000 series:

But I did notice in LMC's catalog the KYB's run about $40/piece for HD gas charged shocks, which would definitely bring the bill down.
Decisions to make.....
Thats the attitude to have ... the ranchos are pricy . I want them on mine yet im still rolling on rust tubes, so you are ahead of me. I have to do my toyo's front struts/springs before I can do the 250'S shocks. 150 a pop for them off ebay and thats the cheapest I can find, sucks for a 2 dollar car.
You run into any problems or questions just post back. Its a forum and there is a wide range of personality's here but, we are all here to help. I can troll with the best of them at times. Dont make me look nice, lol.
Haha yeah you seem alright. Anyways, it might still be a month or so off cause of work/college. And of course I need to save up the money for the shocks. But once I get the shocks and everything I'll let you guys know, cause I browse this forum almost daily.
Hey since you are in MN, do you have a Fleet Farm near you? They have a pretty good selection of shocks and prices are probably cheaper than anywhere else.

That's alright, I guess it just rankled to be called someone who never worked a day in his life... The OP will probably have an easy time of it and will definitely feel good for having done it. And you are right that it's not a hard job for anyone with experience turning wrenches. Strictly for me, the wheels and tires are still very heavy and I'm definitely better off not wrestling with them. But if you don't have to take them off, I guess it's a piece of cake
Guys its two nuts and bolts per a shock here... 45 mins to a hour with rust is average with hand tools. yet this is not a slacking pace... With guns you can just snap them off and its even faster. Front tires need to come off for better access. But the rears don't. It's not a big job ... Stop scaring the kid.
