You install the VIAIR system. Use a T fitting on the airline that goes on the in cab VIAIR gauge/power switch and tie in to the "in" on the Firestone manifold. Then you run an air line from the "out" on the Firestone gauge and this feeds the air bags on the axle. This allows you to have the available air from the VIAIR tank tied in to your Firestone system and all you have to do to air up is push up on the valve.
So reality is I can use the firestone Gauge T's and Switch on any airbag system!
I'm more interested in the airlift kits as their warantee is superior to firestones.
I also like the install between the outside frame rail to the top of the leaf spring better than under frame rail and top of axle, not only for leaf strength, but I have an 8" lift on my truck so cant bracket all the way down the 8" difference in height higher than the axle.
also ruscheii, Im guessing with this set-up, If I want to release the pressur I just do so by the manual valve or does that controller you sent the link for have and for fill, and down for dump? I presume if I were to dump through the controller ( assuming the controller does that ) the tank would have to be lower pressure. which is fine, I would just have to do so prior to me pumping up the tank for airhorns.
I'm interested in the wireless airbag fill, if it's possible. If not I'd still like what info you make bring to light for me on using the current air system you and I have.
The Airlift wireless kit works great for this. Result is almost instant bag inflate (no compressor run time) and cab control of inflate -deflate.
Just need a regulated 100 psi supply from a tank that is piped into a 12 volt DC solenoid, normally closed.
I got the #10009 kit this time. There are two compressor motors and filling the tank is real quick now. Love it. Only difference is that I can't use the upfitter for the power, too much amp draw, so I had to use a relay. The kit comes with the relay so it was no problem, I use upfitter 4 for the air system and when I turn #4 on the relay kicks and the power line from the battery post is activated. The kit comes with a 60 amp fuse to install at the battery as well.
I'm very happy and impressed with the VIAIR products. They do a good job.

I run a marine grade heavy duty solenoid for my compressor. Using #4 upfitter.
I also have a separate dash switch that allows me to run the compressor when the truck is off if needed.
