What is this thing?
My old man picked up this 95 F250 with a 5.8 and I noticed this thing. Is it missing a hose? It was like this when he bought it so I have no clue what it is.

thats a good oldfashion kanooter valve, in michigan them are long gone rusted away. it is just a type of inlet filter for air pump dont think its missing a hose. it will also dump air from pump when its not being sent someplace else.

Technically, its a muffler....To be SPECIFIC about it...Quietens down the sound of the SMOG system pushing air....
