Missing air pump hose or cap?

Hello.
I have a 1989 Ford f-250. 5.8 EFI, E40D.
I was wondering if someone could take a look at this picture I took of my engine and tell me what is supposed to be hooked up to the valve that I have the yellow arrow pointing to. It is hooked into the air pump hose tree. Air constantly blows out of it into the engine compartment. Either it is supposed to be capped off or a hose hooked on which routes somewhere else. But, I cannot imagine that it is supposed to be like this. I have not had the truck very long and it came this way when I purchased it. Thank you!

Thanks much Egor.

Well, I guess it is probably how it is supposed to be. It must just be an air vent.

I will leave it like it is unless someone else chimes in and says their's has something hooked to it.

This is just a guess, but it is the intake for the air pump? The pump has to be getting air from somewhere, right?

Mine seems to blow air out of the hole. So, I don't think it is an intake. Maybe it is a filter and cleans what ever is blowing out of of the device.

Egor. Did your gas milage increase when you removed the crap? I only get about 8 mpg now. I would like to find a way to get more.

No, It didn't didn't change at all. Even after a fresh motor, I get 10-11 with my 351.
