Tailgate Hinge Lock(s?)
I'd like to install a tailgate hinge lock such as...
Bully Anti-Theft Truck Tailgate Lock - JCWhitney
Do I need two, one for each side, or does one total suffice?
Please excuse my laziness in having not yet looked at my truck to evaluate on my own!
Also, does anyone have any experience with this particular lock or recommend another? I was told by a colleague who had his three week old tailgate with camera stolen that they are a littly pricey... mine too has the camera and this is cheap relative to buying the replacement outright or even an insurance deductible.

you only need 1.. the passenger side.
in the link referenced, notice the 1/2 of a velcro patch... the lock is a little loose and could bang around.. this is a nice idea.

I got the McGard lock after having my tailgate stolen. Total out the door ~$4300 for a replacement gate. Mine has the step and camera.
Seems to be a lot of this going on right now. When I picked mine up I was told the fire chief had his stolen along with 3 others that week.

I think, like the door locks, they can be opened with a well placed screwdriver. These tailgate hinge locks will make it a time consuming effort to get the gate off in case the lock was either jimmied or you forgot to lock it.
