Unplug Tailgate power lock?

I have been having trouble with my Tailgate sometimes unlocking and sometimes not. This happened after some ForScan mods. It happens randomly. I have never needed to lock a tailgate and would prefer a keyed lock!

Tonight I unplugged it! Taped both sides of the connection. Anyone else disabled the tailgate lock?

I have not, but my truck came with some connector dummy loads (or dead ends) to install if I disconnect the tailgate. You might want to check into that.
