Not to feel swept to the side and used. (friends and family) lol guess really can't call them friends when they treat me that way, and family....well no matter what..their blood even if you dont have much to do with them.

Just want to wake up happy and feeling good and go to bed feeling the same way.

Well, would you still be where you are if the route was different? I know if I hadn't gotten in a fight and walked out of my shop manager job, I wouldn't have my wife and family.
It's odd how low spots drive you to goals-

Is there anything to be said for fate? Are we destined to check in at the same checkpoints as we move through life, forks in the road be damned?

I wouldn't change a thing, just in case.

But if I were a single, unattached guy with no baggage, sure I'd change a few things.

I couldn't ask for more than what I have. I'm still standing, the sun is still shining, and I have my family and friends by my side. What more could anyone ask for?

Amen to that!

I just want, and work hard for, my kids to be better and have it better then me. They've already got a good head start because they're smarter than me!

I can imagine a job matching system so that all people could find work that was productive and that they found enjoyable and satisfying.

You don't need a system to match us with the perfect jobs. Just make everyone a beer taste tester.

If only I could change the world.....

I recall being a much younger guy, having problems with my girlfriend, and feeling very 'low'.

A lady that worked as the office receptionist/secretary/'girl Friday', was enduring pain worse than anyone that I knew of, at the time.
(Her husband was losing his battle with Cancer, and she had just lost her son to the war in Viet Nam. Her son was a year older than me.)

Laura was a very smart lady. She could 'see' that I was having difficulty in coping with my problems.

She walked up behind me, and patted me on the rear-end and said (softly, into my ear),
"Honey, just remember one thing. The sun don't shine up one dog's _ _ _, every day of the week."
She didn't say another word, she just walked away.

I couldn't help it. I had to chuckle.
Laura turned, and looked at me, and gave me a smile and winked.

She accomplished what she had set out to do.
She made me stop for a second, and laugh.

That wonderful woman is gone, now. The "Big C" found her and took her away from us.
She's now in a better place, with her husband and son.

If I could change the world. . . . . . . I'd help everyone STOP what they are doing for 5 minutes. . . . and get them to laugh.

Laughing is so much better than crying.

I truly hope that everyone has a wonderful day.
